The local traditions are preserved by the Aranyeso Folk Dance
Group, the Folk Song Club at Csengele and the Zither Group

Mrs Albert Tóth lace-maker, a real master of folk art, lived
and worked at Pusztaszer. Her fascinating and delicate works
became famous both in Hungary and abroad. The Móra Ferenc Museum
at Szeged has purchased her laces and her tools and is planning
to preserve them for the future.

Mrs
László Kiszi is a devoted collector and singer of folk songs
and folk music. She used to teach playing on the zither and
also lead zither bands. She received several prizes and awards
for her work. She owns an enormous collection of valuable material.
She still takes part in concerts and continues with her tireless
effort of collecting the folk song treasures of Hungarian folk
art.
In our village at Pusztaszer we have a lot of gifted women and
girls who are very skilled in making embroideries and do this
activity happily in their spare-time. They have not formed a
club, yet, but Mrs. István Németh has already became well known
for her works. She designs, draws and finishes her beautiful
pieces of embroideries. She makes colorful Kalocsa style patterns
most frequently, but Rishelie patterns are also found among
her works. She uses her own tools to create these masterpieces.

The workshop of the Mihály Zichy Art and Design Community stands
in the heart of the peaceful ranch world of our village, just
next to the Árpád memorial, since 1987. Several famous painters
have visited this workshop already. They paintings talk about
the beautiful and fascinating landscape of the Alföld. Their
works are on display in the workshop. Artists come here from
all parts of Hungary regularly and spend some time at the workshop,
but Pál Tóth painter lives and works in our village.
